REMUNERATION: Basic salary of USD 1500 monthly equivalent in ETB based on experience.

Background and Context
The Mastercard Foundation Edtech Fellowship, in partnership with Reach for Change, aims to bridge the education gap for underserved young people in Ethiopia. This three-year catalytic acceleration program supports the scaling of inclusive educational technology enterprises through coaching, funding, and networking. The fellowship emphasizes the impact of local entrepreneurship in creating an inclusive Edtech ecosystem in Ethiopia.
Position Summary:
As a Senior Education and Learning Officer for Reach for Change, you will be part of a smart, brave and passionate team, working on the Reach for Change EdTech Project and reporting to the Project Manager (PM). Based in the Addis Ababa office, Ethiopia, the Learning Science Officer will support the Edtech Fellowship project team in the implementation of the Mastercard Foundation Edtech Fellowship.
Your main responsibilities include:
Digital Learning content, learning solutions and educational Products Enhancement and Iteration
Support the digital learning content or product development and improvement process, collaborating closely with EdTech Fellows(enterprises developing educational solutions) to define product roadmaps, prioritise features, and deliver high-quality, impactful interactive learning solutions.
Drive iterative digital learning content/product development cycles, conducting user research, gathering feedback, and iterating on learning product features to ensure alignment with user needs and learning objectives.
Advise on alignment of EdTech companies educational product and services with the Ethiopian curriculum and pedagogy
The expert will evaluate and track progress in pedagogical improvements, support digital educational platform adaptation and
Enhance partnerships with Ministry of Education, Schools and education bureaus, and experiment specific solutions with pilot experimenting/sandbox approaches for a latter stage scaling
Serve as focal to liaise and cascade learning methodology and science offered by the Carringe Mellon University
Support and Mentorship
Guide and support EdTech Fellows/Education enterprises to participate and complete ongoing content development science, theory and methodologies as part of the EdTech Fellowship program.
Guide EdTech Fellows and educators in applying practical learning principles and pedagogical strategies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
Review educational content, strategies, and implementation plans, providing constructive feedback based on evidence-based practices.
Facilitate professional development opportunities encouraging ongoing learning and
adaptation to new educational challenges.
Development of Educational Tools and Frameworks
Work with EdTech Fellows to create and refine tools and frameworks in implementing the education and learning concepts, with a focus on practical, context- sensitive solutions.
Impact Evaluation and Reporting
Work closely with the project team to conduct evaluations to measure the impact of educational initiatives and interventions, using data to inform continuous improvement.
Compile reports and publications that document the successes and learnings of the fellowship program, contributing to the broader educational discourse.
Research and Collaboration:
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the latest research in effective learning methodologies, science of learning, translating insights into actionable strategies for the fellowship program.
Collaborate with a network of educational professionals, researchers, and institutions to promote knowledge exchange and innovation.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the education sector, and pedagogical development with a significant focus on applying content development and delivery principles in pre-tertiary education settings.
Experience in curriculum development, teacher training, and educational technology implementation is highly valued.
Proven experience in educational content, tailored product and learning service management roles within the Education and specifically EdTech industry.
Proven capacity in educational initiatives, with the ability to mentor, guide, and build capacity among educators and venture teams.
Strong collaboration and networking skills, with a history of working effectively with diverse stakeholders in the education ecosystem.
Excellent communication abilities, clearly articulating complex educational concepts to various audiences, including non-experts.
Deep understanding of the cultural, socio-economic, and educational landscape in Africa, with the ability to adapt strategies to diverse contexts.
In addition to this specific assignment, the officer will collaborate with the program officers and PM on shared responsibilities and overall program delivery
Your shared team responsibilities include:
If necessary, and under periods of intense workload; help and support the rest of the organisation to achieve team and organizational objectives.
Contribute to efforts to share best practice, ideas and experience on successful implementation of the programs externally and across the markets.
Continue to build the sense of ‘One Reach for Change’ by promoting a collaborative culture and efficient sharing of resources across all Reach for Change teams.
Responsibility to build and retrain your own knowledge about the field of social entrepreneurship and innovation, including staying abreast of program development by completing required certifications and training.
Share knowledge internally across functions and markets contributing to RfC continued development as a learning organisation and externally supporting RfC strategy on thought leadership and ecosystem development.
