Who we are:
Reach for Change is a global non-profit founded in Sweden. Our vision is a world where all children and youth reach their full potential. We're working towards this vision by unleashing the power of local social entrepreneurs and enabling them to go from ideas to innovative solutions and sustainable organizations. We were co-founded by successful entrepreneurs in the non-profit and business sectors in 2010, and since then we have supported more than 2000 social entrepreneurs in 18 countries across three continents.
About the role:
As a Communications & Partnership Manager, Ethiopia for Reach for Change, you are part of a smart, brave and passionate team, working for the Ethiopia team and reporting to the Country Manager. The role, in line with the overall long-term strategy for the organisation, includes developing in-country communication and partnership strategies and operational plans and following through the execution and evaluation.
Line and budget management (Staff Management, Mentorship, and Development)
Line management and supervision of Communication Officer and interns, including recruitment of such.
Manage the performance of direct reports through performance management, coaching, mentoring, training and development.
Be responsible for the wellbeing and performance of your subordinates i.e interns, volunteers and comms officers who report to you.
Primary responsibilities include: Communication
Lead in developing Reach for Change Ethiopia’s communication strategies.
Provide tools, support and training to teams as relevant and participate in sharing of best practices in the global communication team and across the organisation.
Ensure the continuous development and management of the country’s web site(s) and social media pages.
Contribute to and support global communications projects such as the production of the annual Social Impact Report.
Quality assure, produce and/or manage production of content such as printed matter, videos, presentations and written reports as required for the country.
Responsible for planning and executing events that support the organization’s mission, engage donors and stakeholders, raise awareness, and generate support.
Primary responsibilities include: Partnership
Support the country manager in cultivation and management of new and existing donor relations.
Support to Identify and assess calls for proposals in terms of their alignment with RfC's strategy and priorities
Contribute to writing high quality funding proposals, concept notes, and pitches toward own cultivated targets as well as support the global and local teams to develop applications and pitch materials as needed.
Contribute to reporting and engagement with key stakeholders, donors or funders.
Consistently maintain up-to-date database of relevant stakeholders, partners and ecosystem builders
Your shared team responsibilities include:
If necessary, and under periods of intense workload; help and support the rest of the organisation to achieve team and organisational objectives.
Contribute to efforts to share best practice, ideas and experience on successful implementation of the programs externally and across the markets.
Continue to build the sense of ‘One Reach for Change’ by promoting a collaborative culture and efficient sharing of resources across all Reach for Change teams.
Responsibility to build and retain your own knowledge about the field of social entrepreneurship and innovation.
Share knowledge internally across functions and markets contributing to RfC continued development as a learning organisation and externally supporting RfC strategy on thought leadership and ecosystem development.

Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and in writing
Ability to quickly understand and use web based applications and platforms will be considered an advantage

Ability to present ideas clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work sensitively with diverse people, cultures, and communities

Education & Experience
Minimum of five years’ work experience, and familiarity in Entrepreneurship or business skill development in an NGO setting.
University degree in communications, public relations, business, economics, public administration or a related discipline.
Experience from project managing, leading, driving or coordinating programs
Experience from work/volunteering within the philanthropic/non-profit or business sector will be an advantage.
Experience in working with International Organizations i.e. INGOs, philanthropist and good understanding of Social Entrepreneurship ecosystem
Knowledge and experience of local ecosystems and political structures.
Experienced user of Microsoft Office/Google Suite and ability to quickly understand and use web based applications and platforms.
