Commitment: Full time
Duration: 1 year fixed term, with possibility of extension
Salary: Monthly basic salary of USD 1,200, equivalent in ETB.

About the role
The Project Officer will support the implementation and coordination of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship in Ethiopia, a catalytic acceleration program designed to bridge the education gap for underserved young people through innovative education technology solutions.
Implemented by Reach for Change in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the program supports the scaling of three cohorts of EdTech enterprises, each comprising 12 startups that are developing solutions to improve inclusive, accessible, and quality learning opportunities across Ethiopia. The Project Officer will play a key role in coordinating program activities, supporting EdTech Fellows, monitoring progress and impact, facilitating ecosystem engagement, and ensuring strong operational and grant management support.

We were co-founded by successful entrepreneurs in the non-profit and business sectors in 2010, and since then we have supported more than 2,000 social entrepreneurs in 18 countries across three continents.
Main Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support the planning and delivery of project related training, workshops, and events.
Prepare detailed training reports, meeting minutes, and key documentation.
Support the grant management of assigned EdTech companies, including reviewing activity plans and budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines.
Coordinate supportive supervision visits to EdTech companies and document progress, action points, and lessons learned.
Coordinate with assigned EdTech companies and track their progress against agreed milestones, including impact targets, learner reach, and business growth indicators.
Collaborate with the Impact Team to collect quarterly reports, verify learner data, and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedure.
Facilitate cross-sectoral support to EdTech startups from relevant experts (business, learning science, impact measurement, gender and inclusion).
Support ecosystem development by coordinating stakeholder engagement, events, networking forums, and policy dialogues.
Assist with partner communication, coordination, and PR initiatives to increase visibility and thought leadership.
Other Responsibilities:
Contribute to sharing good practices, ideas, and experiences related to program implementation and communications across Reach for Change teams.
Help foster a collaborative culture and efficient sharing of resources across markets and teams.
Continue building your knowledge about the field of social entrepreneurship and social innovation.
Share insights and learning internally across teams and functions, contributing to Reach for Change’s development as a learning organization.
Competencies & Skills
We are looking for someone who brings some of the following:
Passion or interest in social entrepreneurship, innovation, or the impact economy.
Curiosity about the challenges and opportunities faced by early-stage organizations.
A collaborative “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn and improve.
Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Familiarity with basic project management tools or approaches is an advantage.
Ability to communicate clearly and interact with different stakeholders.
Comfortable collaborating with people from different backgrounds and sectors.
You should feel comfortable communicating in English.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
Education & Experience
We believe you bring some of the following:
A university degree in business administration, project management , development studies or a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
Five years and above professional experience in startup support, innovation programs, or development projects.
Experience through work, internships, volunteering, or studies related to project coordination, entrepreneurship, social impact, or community initiatives.
Experience from the nonprofit, public, or private sector is an advantage but not required.
Familiarity with the Ethiopian social innovation or entrepreneurship ecosystem is a plus.
